A top 24 finalist on American Idol, Colombian-born Julez remembers jumping between practicing Chopin on her piano and rocking out to her father’s Michael Jackson collection in the foothills of the Andes. In 1998, violence and unrest in Colombia forced Julez and her family to move to Denver, Colorado. Finding her own place in the States proved easy for her, as she was soon accepted into the Denver School of the Arts, and later the Idyllwild Arts Academy, where she excelled in her study of voice and piano. Driven by her heart, Julez turned down a scholarship to Berklee College of Music to move to Los Angeles, where she has worked with David Foster and Nathan Reid before finding her place with Girl Radical.
Fun Fact: Back in Colombia, Julez used to play in the rainforest with her brother!
